  1.“be vital to sth.”意为“对…(的存在或成功)是极其重要、极关键的,必不可少的”,例如:These measures are vital to

  national security.(这些措施对国防安全极其重要。)需要注意的是,如果想表达“对健康非常重要或非常有必要”时,需用介词“for”,即:“be vital for one's health”,例如: Regular exercise is vital for your health.(经常做锻炼对健康非常有.必要。)

  2.“deal with sb.”在这里表示“与某人(或某个公司、组织等)做生意、有生意上的往来”,例如:Most travel agents do not deal

  directly with these companies.(大部分旅行社代理都不和这些公司直接做生意。)

  3.“drum up”意为“竭力争取,通过持续不懈的努力得来”,例如:Peter is in Europe, drumming- up business for his new investment company.(彼得现在在欧洲,努力为他新开办的投资公司争取生意。)
